Strategy
Fovea focuses on the development of preclinical and early-stage clinical projects, but seeks strategic collaboration with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies as an important part of its drug-development strategy.
Fovea is also actively pursuing developments with drug delivery partners, selecting the most appropriate technology for each couple compound / ocular disease".
Current Partnerships
CombinatoRx
In January 2006, Fovea signed an exclusive license agreement with CombinatoRx (CRXX) to access Ophthalmologic applications of four combination compounds from three different families in the CRXX data-base for the treament of the following indications: allergic and inflammatory diseases of the anterior segment, chronic diabetic macular edema, dry-eye, neuroprotection in glaucoma.
The parties will combine CRXX's dicovery platform with Fovea's pre-clinical and clinical expertise.

O&O
In March 2006, Fovea signed an exclusive development agreement with O&O, to develop a new system of intra-ocular injection to deliver drugs to the posterior segment of the eye. This technology development is based on the outcome of an R&D collaboration between Fovea and the Rothschild Ophthalmology Foundation.
This proprietary technology of “easy-to-use” pre-filled auto-injector will give Fovea’s BOE products a major marketing protection and superiority vs competition. [O&O site]
Partnership / Collaboration Opportunities
Fovea has an active discovery program underway identifying molecular targets and mechanisms for screening small molecules for various ophthalmological indications including retinitis pigmentosa, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma as an optic neuropathy.
The Company has been working with its academic partner (Inserm U592, Paris) to characterize pathways of interest and identify novel entry points for therapeutic intervention.
Fovea has applied this strategy to build its internal small molecule drug discovery programs around novel targets in retinal indications.
We welcome inquiries for research collaborations with our discovery engine.
